Hockey is played by males and females, youth, teenagers, adults and even seniors. Beginners need to learn 4 main skills; skating, shooting, passing and stick-handling.
Official
Referees and linesmen both ensure that rules are enforced for the fairness of play and safety of participants. They are recognized as having appropriate certification, an unbiased opinion and are responsible for how the sport is played.
Coach
Coaches in sport are a L O T: Leaders, Organizers and Teachers. Progressive youth coaches support the Long Term Athlete Development approach which promotes a multi-sport participant rather than a single sport super-star model for life time sport enjoyment.
